Paul G. Lister III

About Paul Lister III
Paul grew up in New York, went to school in Buffalo, then Houston where he started his teaching career in 2005 as a teaching coach while earning his master's degree in ESL/Bilingual Education. He moved to Beijing in 2011 to learn how ESL is taught overseas to speakers of non-alphabetic languages. He returned to Texas to implement new learnings with a 5th grade ESL classroom and served as grade chair in a school of 1,000 scholars and in 2013 started his MBA at University of St. Thomas with a focus on educational Leadership and earned his K-12 Principal's credential. He earned a role as a Teacher Specialist in 2015 and was promoted to Assistant Principal at a nearby school with 1,100 scholars in 2016. In 2020 he accepted a promotion to San Francisco for an Elementary Principal Role at the Tenderloin Community School. After establishing improved outcomes, he retired in 2025 to focus on the next chapter in his career.
Paul grew up in New York. Some of his favorites include: hanging with family/friends, eating strawberries, dancing, traveling abroad, playing sports like pickleball and basketball, watching movies, and cooking for friends and family.
